Things continue to heat up in Niagara Falls over a proposed $25 million hotel project brought to the table by developer Mark Hamister.

The city originally negotiated a deal with Hamister's group to sell a parking lot for $100,000 that sits just across from the state park.

Now, three of the city's council members have balked on the deal, saying it's assessed at a much higher rate, even though that parcel was a gift that the city didn't pay for.

After tabling the issue yet again last night, Hamister said he's prepared to walk.

The deal isn't done just yet, just on hiatus. The project could still be approved when the council returns to session after the summer.
