Driver, trooper injured in Bypass accident

A collision involving an on-duty state trooper in an unmarked car on the Lockport Bypass sent the trooper and another driver to different hospitals on Wednesday ...

It happened about 8 a.m. yesterday morning when a car driven by 20-year-old Riley Wahl of Akron swerved across the median on the bypass.

It swerved right into the path of a car driven by trooper Lt. Craig Wing of the Lockport State Police Office ...

Wahl was taken to ECMC where he was listed in critical condition ... Wing was taken to Eastern Niagara Hospital where he suffered a broken wrist and elbow ...

Charges are pending against the driver.
