With New Year's Eve right around the corner, the city of Lockport is getting back in the holiday swing.

After organizers had originally cancelled the annual ball drop, John Lombardi announced at Wednesday's Common Council meeting that a scaled down version of the event will take place this December 31.

According to Lombardi, the event will take place in front of City Hall.

Years ago, Red Clark, rest in peace, came down here and got this whole thing started. I guess they're still doing it in Wilson, and we were going to continue to do it here in Lockport. On a shoestring budget, but we're going to have something for everybody.

Tim Stoll and the band Stone Angel will be performing on the city stage, starting at 10 p.m.
