Personalities

Lockport native, Kyla J. Smith completed a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Broadcasting from Mercyhurst College in May 2004. Kyla keeps busy by working three jobs; she's a housing specialist at Belmont Housing Resources for WNY, she serves as the box office manager for Road Less Traveled Productions, and she is the current co-host of Super-Dial-A-Deal and the quizmaster for Scholastic Bowl on WLVL. She also lends her voice to commercials for Culver Communications and previously anchored/reported news for Newsradio 930 WBEN. A life-long student of dance, Kyla currently takes classes with Clare Fetto at the Festival School of Ballet, and performs Festival Ballet Ensemble. She is also seen on the local theatre stage from time to time; she returned to the Kenan Center's Taylor Theatre for WARPD Productions staging of the comedy "Cosi" in the summer of 2010. She performed in several productions, as a young person, at the Kenan Center; including Alice in Wonderland, The Wind in the Willows, and The Hobbit. More recently, Kyla has appeared with Niagara Regional Theatre Guild in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, and Ghostlight Theatre's Night of the Living Dead. Kyla's greatest love is her family, and she hopes to honor the memory one of WLVL's greatest fans, her beloved Pops, every time she takes the mic.
